review description

This review was conducted for six different registry software applications. Before running any of the registry software the start up and shut down times of the pc were measured. A scan and repair were then conducted three times in a row, with the final time introducing the start up management feature. The test was designed to check that there was consistency with regards to checking errors and ensuring there was a reduction in errors each time registry easy scanned the registry. Secondly it was to check the differences in start up and shut down times and to check if there was an improvement in time and lastly to check the responsiveness of the computer and whether it felt sharper and more responsive after the registry repairs. Here are the registry easy review results:

scan 1

the first scan found 1529 errors; this was by far the most errors found by any software. 

Considering this was almost double any other registry software it did raise a few eyebrows.  Another concern was the elapsed time on the dashboard had strange characters behind it. The repair was done and the system was restarted. The improvement in start up time was only 3 seconds clocking in on a start up time of 3:50 min.

scan 2

another scan found that there were 297 errors still in the registry. 

These were repaired and the computer was shut down. The shut down took 1:19, 14 seconds faster than the original setup.
On the restart, the second repair had shaved off another 10 seconds on the start up time.

the final scan picked up 199 errors, still a huge number.

The final repair was run and the start up management was run as well. Shut down speed was 55 seconds and the final start up was 2:57 min, a 56 seconds improvement.  This was a 24% improvement.

registry easy review: overall impression

Ihave two concerns with registry easy, firstly even after three scans I still had 199 errors. Thats a lot if they really are errors. Secondly I am always concerned when the software I work on has text in strange places on the front screen. This has a few characters just after the elapsed time header, you can see this if you click on a thumbnail. Its probably nothing serious but my first thought is if this company has been sloppy on the front end, how carefull have they been when creating the inner works of this application? Maybe the characters are meant to be there, if so my humble apologies to registry easy.

On the positive side, this application had way more features than any other software tested. Too many to try out during the review in fact. This may point to this tool being more of an all round maintenance tool rather than purely a registry cleaner.
