Registry Smart is a budget registry scanner. It features registry fixing, start up management and backup facilities
Review description:
This review was conducted for six different registry software applications. Before running any of the registry software the start up and shut down times of the pc were measured.
A scan and repair were then conducted three times in a row, with the final time introducing the start up management feature. The test was designed to check that there was consistency with regards to checking errors and ensuring there was a reduction in errors each time regcurescanned the registry.
Secondly it was to check the differences in start up and shut down times and to check if there was an improvement in time and lastly to check the responsiveness of the computer and whether it felt sharper and more responsive after the registry repairs.
Summary:

Here are the registry smart review results:
The first scan found 332 errors on my computer.
The first repair was conducted and the machine was shut down.
The next start up was completed in 3:19 min, this put registry smart into the top positions for start up, however this program has a very irritating habit of loading itself into memory on the start up and adding another two minutes onto the start up time. So i was pretty surprised when the next start up took over 5 minutes. It was only after I had removed this from memory did it achieve 3:19 min.
The computer felt sharp and quick after loading
The second scan found 13 errors,
these were repaired and the process was repeated. The shut down took 1:06 min.
The second start up took 3.11 min (after i had removed registry smart from auto loading in memory again!).
Scan 3 and start up management
The final scan found 6 errors.
Start up management was implemented and the system was shut down. Shut down took 1:02 min, a 31 second improvement.
The final start up took 2.26 min, second overall out of the software tested. Registry smart provided a 37 percent increase in start up speed.
registry smart review: overall impression
I would absolutely love to tear this piece of software apart, it deserves to be slated. And I would..... if it weren’t for one thing.... It works really well.
Registry smart had the most noticeable improvement in speed after the first scan; it finished a close second after Registry Fix for the most improvement overall. If you want a budget registry cleaner that works, this is the one.
However heres the down side, after speeding up your computer immensely, it does everything it possibly can to slow you down, it loads itself into memory on start up…and it’s slow. If you remove it from the start up, your machine is quick. But if you want to load registry smart again, it insists on re-installing…which is slow, and then it reloads itself back into memory on start up…
If you are on a shoe string budget and this is all you can afford and you want something that works, then by all means go for this product. If however you don’t want to deal with the irritation and can afford something more classy, then I would look at something like registry fix or registry mechanic.
